Strawberry Fields Forever (2023)

16”x20”

Oil on canvas.

I was inspired to paint these strawberries after visiting Marseille’s fruit market in July of 2022. The vibrancy and shine of the berries made them a satisfying subject. I began painting them and simultaneously found myself listening to the Beatles during that time. The painting took on a new personal meeting for me while listening to the classic song, “Strawberry Fields Forever.” in the midst of this creative process, I was able to break down my expectations of how I’ve always felt I’m “meant to fit into society,” and opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of pursuing my passions. It was a truly freeing experience and an honor to create this work.
